flamin rain

I had to collect my daughter from school via the local bus service, which is great. Unfortunately, the weather is still not.
I live on a hill and trying to control a pushchair with one hand and an umbrella with the other is serious stuff, practically impossible, especially when it's windy. Why hasn't someone invented something for this? I was dragged down the hill by the weight of the pushchair while the wheels practically had a mind of their own, even though they are swivel.

Hence we got wet. Still, the only other option would be to leave my 2 year old at home. But wouldn't that make me a bad mother? I guess I'll have to start wearing those awful clear rain caps that OAP's wear. Life just gets worse.

Thursday 14th june

What is the weather doing today? It is chucking it down in buckets. Heatwave over the weekend, now this.

I have been busy writing this week. (and for the past few weeks) I am excited about my work, I know I have alot to learn but personal experiences are giving me great story lines.(Even if they are rather depressing) As they say It never rains but it pours. I sit and wait for the next lot of proverbial Shit to hit then fan. My life would be so boreing without it.

My daughter is practicing a dance with a few friends for her end of primary school leavers assembly. I've made them some costumes (with the help of a friend) We aren't choreographers by a long shot but have tried to simplify the routine for them. They expect to achieve in less than a week, what the cast of High School Musical did in months. We watched them reherse yesterday and it gave me goosebumps. Gushy mummy moment!

My nearly 18 year old son wants to move out from his fathers. I'm not going into what type of father he is, I think it would be rude, everyone parents in their own way. Opps, did I say he was a parent? Anyway, my son is trying to save up for uni and has secured a part time job in a residential Care home for people with special needs. I am so proud of him as he is a bit of a lad but has a very sensitive streak. He likes to help people. he wasnt to be a Geologist. This has changed from a Climatologist but as long as it's something Earth related he doesn't mind. Anyway, he wants to move out as his dad is expecting rent (fair enough) but not the amount he is aking for. He should come and live back with mum that's my answer. (sorry another gushy mum moment.)

Right, have to go. Serious writing to be done today. Nearly at the end of chapter 3.
